CASTLE prevents child abuse and neglect through education and awareness. Parents learn new ways to raise their children in a safe and nurturing environment through a variety of available programs and services. Programs and services are provided at no cost or on a sliding fee scale and are available through our Parent Educators and Facilitators in English, Spanish and Creole.

Literacy Services of Indian River County, Inc. is a non-profit (501(c)(3) organization designed to improve the literacy skills of residents in our county. Literacy Services was formed in 1971 and is a proud United Way agency partner. More than 20% of our students are senior citizens.  Our volunteer tutors provide free, confidential, and one-to-one tutoring to individuals age 16 and over or in group tutoring settings at the request of local employers or individuals. We also provide family literacy tutoring for families if requested by the family. We are supported solely by individuals, businesses, foundations and the United Way. We receive no government funding.

OneBlood is a not-for-profit, community asset responsible for providing safe, available and affordable blood to our local hospital partners and their patients. Blood donors can either donate at the center in Vero Beach on 36th Street, or on “The Big Red Bus” which is out almost daily throughout Indian River County. SafeSpace is a 501© non-profit United Way organization serving victims of domestic violence in Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin counties in Florida. In addition to our Emergency Shelter, SafeSpace also provides a Supportive Living program for individuals in need of longer-term housing as well as outreach services for those who choose not to enter a shelter but whose lives are being affected by domestic violence. Program participants are provided with the information and counseling SafeSpace offers through its many programs and services. In addition, they are made aware of various local support services available to assist them in creating an independent life free from violence.
